Operational Embellishment Technician

We are looking for a skilled machine operator to join our textile finishing team at NZ Safety Blackwoods. As an operational embellishment technician, your key responsibilities will include assisting the department in achieving efficient garment processing, maintaining timely completion, and ensuring excellent quality control.

This is a full-time afternoon shift position, Monday to Thursday (2PM to 11PM) and Friday (2PM to 8PM). You will be responsible for the efficient operation of our embroidery machines.

The Role:

  • Operating single and multi-head embroidery machines.
  • Managing digitising and sample production.
  • Preparation and branding of items according to works instructions.
  • Ensuring accurate embroidery, thread removal, and backing removal.
  • Preparing garments for dispatch by unpacking and branding.
  • Sewing on badges, repairing, altering, and adding tape as necessary.
  • Maintaining machinery by troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, replacing needles, cleaning, and lubricating.
  • Conducting quality control checks on garments.

About you:

  • Experience in operating embroidery machines or a strong interest in machine operation.
  • Ability to learn and participate in ongoing product training.
  • Positive attitude with initiative, being result-driven and focused on details.
  • Natural problem-solving skills and high professional standards.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities.
