Key Responsibilities

As an Investment Assurance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of New Zealand. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality analysis and advice on nationally significant investments. You will work closely with internal teams, providing them with capital investment advice.

You will also have the opportunity to advise Ministers directly, ensuring that agency investments are effectively communicated. In addition, you will support agencies with their strategic capital investment planning.

Your role will also involve leading the development of bespoke assurance processes, mitigation measures, and recommendations. Furthermore, you will lead or support commissioned investment reviews and deliver high-level reporting and analysis of these reviews.

A key aspect of your role will be establishing and maintaining excellent collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Experience in providing high-quality advice on high-risk capital projects
  • Strong customer focus - pragmatic and attuned to organisational realities
  • Exceptional relationship management skills
  • Effective communication skills - able to translate technical information into easily understood concepts
  • Significant experience in providing advice to decision makers in a Government context
  • Resilient and courageous - reputation for providing robust advice
  • A previous background in Health is sought after, but not compulsory
