We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to join our team at WOFO in Akaroa. As a key member of our mental health team, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to patients facing mental health challenges.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work in a hospital setting, supporting patients with their daily activities and promoting emotional well-being. You will work collaboratively with mental health teams to provide tailored patient care, including assisting with documentation and observing patients for any behavioral changes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate or relevant experience in mental health care (preferred)
  • Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in challenging situations
