Job Description:

The Clinical Head of Department will provide clinical leadership across the continuing care continuum within Kia Tu Ngawari services. This role will work closely with the General Manager and Clinical Director to provide professional leadership and aim to provide a high-quality service that meets the community, service, and organisational objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to teams across Kia Tu Ngawari services.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and Clinical Director to develop and implement strategies to improve health outcomes for children, young people, and families accessing mental health care.
  • Contribute to the development of quality improvement initiatives and service development co-design.
  • Collaborate with the clinical governance forum to ensure high standards of care and contribute to improving services.

Requirements:

  • Specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a Psychiatry vocational scope of practice.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
