The role of Temporary Traffic Management Specialist involves significant stakeholder liaison and finding solutions that best support events and filming activity across the region. You will be responsible for:

  1. Processing applications to hold events and film in Auckland against relevant codes and standards.
  2. Preparing reports to obtain necessary approvals for temporary road closures and temporary parking restrictions.
  3. Planning and preparing temporary public transport bus routes.
  4. Providing technical subject matter expertise to stakeholders to ensure event success.
  5. Working closely with internal teams to ensure best outcomes for events and minimal network disruption.
  6. Improving TTM associated with events and filming across the ATOC network.

This role requires some work outside standard office hours to support major event delivery, audit deployment of traffic management plans, and fulfill an Incident Management Team role in response to emergencies.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Site Traffic Management Specialist Categories A, B, and C (or equivalent).
  • A full New Zealand driver's license.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in TTM (ideally event-related).
  • Expert knowledge of COPTTM and a sound understanding of NZGTTM.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement success.
  • Intermediate or expert proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Fantastic organisational skills – planning, prioritising, managing time exceptionally well.
  • Strong personal resilience – maintaining good energy and positivity under pressure.
  • An understanding and appreciation of local government workings and functions.
