About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Planning Lead to join our team at StraitNZ.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the logistics planning function, ensuring that production schedules are aligned with supply plans and that products are delivered to customers on time.

You will work closely with sales and marketing teams to accurately forecast demand and ensure supply plans align with market needs.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement processes and systems to consistently deliver production schedules that align with supply plans and ensure timely delivery of products.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of 6 direct reports and developing their skills and knowledge to achieve business objectives
  • Partnering with key stakeholders across the business to establish and maintain strong working relationships
  • Maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimising holding costs and avoiding stockouts
  • Developing and improving planning processes and procedures

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a supply planning management role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of creating highly engaged teams
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills, with the ability to effectively tailor your approach to different stakeholders
  • Able to identify areas of opportunity and drive meaningful change, taking the team with you on the journey
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to flex between data and detail to the bigger strategic picture
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate where needed
  • Accountability, owning your decisions and results, and being able to be counted on to do what you say you will
  • Considered decision making and solutions-focused approach
