About the Role:

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Environmental Advisor to support the Lands, Resources and Consultations (LRC) Branch. As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a vital role in providing technical support for environmental initiatives and projects that benefit the citizens of the MNO.

Your primary responsibilities will include providing research and data-based reports on environmental initiatives, developing new projects, and supporting the MNO's environmental monitoring programs. You will also assist in planning and executing engagement activities with MNO communities, such as engagement meetings, site tours, and community information sessions.

As an Environmental Advisor, you will have the opportunity to make a direct or indirect impact on the lives of Métis peoples across the province. You will work collaboratively with other staff members of the LRC Branch and the MNO to improve processes and standards within the branch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for environmental initiatives and projects
  • Develop and maintain contacts with proponents, government departments, and other entities on projects relevant to the MNO
  • Maintain a thorough record of all activities and consultations associated with projects
  • Develop communications for MNO communities regarding relevant topics and issues
