About the Role

PGG Wrightson Seeds, a leading provider of high-quality forage and pasture solutions, is seeking an experienced Forage Agronomist to join their team. As a key member of the agronomy team, you will play a vital role in helping farmers and growers across the region maximise the productivity and profitability of their forage and pasture-based operations.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in agriculture, agronomy or a related discipline and experience with statistical programs such as Genstat or R. A comprehensive knowledge of forage and pasture species, agronomy, soil science and livestock production systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with forage breeding programs and providing expert technical advice to customers on forage and pasture selection, establishment, management and improvement.
  • Conducting field trials and demonstrations to showcase the latest pasture and forage technologies.
  • Collaborating with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and support customer relationships.

  • A strong understanding of forage and pasture agronomy, including soil science and livestock production systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical information into practical advice.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and project management capabilities.
