Empowering Young People in Their Communities

Cgr Services is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Whanau Support Worker. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people in your community by providing support, guidance, and empowerment to help them achieve their personal dreams and goals.

About the Role
  • We are looking for energetic and motivated individuals who are passionate about supporting people to achieve their goals, hopes, and dreams.
  • The successful candidate will have the ability to look beyond presenting barriers and provide experiences that will empower people to live the best life they can.
  • You will work closely with young people, their families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement personalized plans to support their needs and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Support young people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.
  2. Assist them in achieving their personal dreams and goals by helping them participate in activities such as swimming, sports events, arts and crafts, movies, or shopping.
  3. Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of support.
Requirements
  • A full driver's license and the ability to complete police checks, CYRAS checks, and reference checks.
  • Experience working with young people would be advantageous.
  • Ability to connect and build a positive relationship with people through the provision of consistent support.
  • Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are essential in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
