Company Overview
Tupu Ake is a peer-led acute mental health and addiction service provider based in South Auckland. We work alongside clinical teams, community teams, and Tiaho mai and ED to provide exceptional care to our Whaiora and their whanau.

The Role
We are seeking a Senior Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a leader, you will use your working knowledge of National Peer Competencies and Peer Principles to provide inspirational leadership, overseeing the running of shifts, role modeling core peer values, and providing coaching and support to Peer Support Specialists to reach their potential.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a good understanding of Mental Health and Addiction Peer Competencies, good leadership skills, and a strong rapport with our clinical partners. You will also have good computer skills, time management, and an understanding of working on staff rosters. Furthermore, you will be able to find cover for shifts when needed and provide support to the Team Coach of the service with day-to-day operations and coaching staff to bring out the best in our peers.

Required Skills and Qualifications
This role requires completion of WRAP training, including WRAP at work. You must hold a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent. Additionally, you should have knowledge of the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights, an understanding of and commitment to the principles of recovery, lived experience of mental illness, knowledge of mental health and NGO sector development, and demonstrable commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
