Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical Specialty Ward team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical practice.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day provision of nursing care to patients on the MED Specialty Ward. You will work closely with our medical inpatient wards to ensure coordinated patient flow across the service and provide supportive treatment to patients receiving inpatient medical care.

You will have opportunities to develop skills in general medicine and work towards senior clinical and leadership positions such as nurse specialists. Additionally, you will have the chance to work in a part of the hospital committed to improving Māori health outcomes and contribute to our Kaimahi Māori team to broaden your knowledge of Māori health, tikanga, and te reo.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in accordance with our clinical practice standards and guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of our clinical practice through participation in quality improvement initiatives and education programs.
