Job Description
Spectrum Care is a leading provider of residential and community support services for children and young people with intellectual disabilities. We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our team at our respite house in Lower Hutt.

About the Role
This is a full-time opportunity working 40 hours per week. As a Community Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing individualized support to children and teenagers with intellectual disabilities, helping them to feel safe and have fun while staying at our respite house. You will need to be vigilant, warm, and creative in your approach, noticing how children are feeling and providing them with guidance, comfort or support as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to children and teenagers with intellectual disabilities
- Assist with daily living skills such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Encourage independence and self-confidence in children and young people
- Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required

Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year experience supporting people with disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic record keeping
- A full New Zealand driver's license (essential)
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development
