Our MissionThe Community Relations (CR) team supports MNO's 31 Chartered Community Councils and three Advisory Councils in their governance matters, reporting, issue management, conflict resolution, addressing concerns, and identifying innovative ways to assist councils.
We update and develop new tools and resources to help councils effectively communicate with citizens and achieve their goals.
About the RoleThe Resolution Specialist will report to the Community Relations Manager or designated Supervisor within the Self Government Branch. Key duties include:
- Utilizing specialized knowledge, education, and experience to meet CR goals and build positive relationships with councils.
- BUILDING strong relationships with community councils, other MNO employees and branches, and PCMNO.
- Supporting policies and processes to address complaints and provide Conflict Resolution strategies and the MNO's Code of Conduct.
- Addressing complex political, governance, confidential, and sensitive issues promptly, tactfully, neutrally, discreetly, maturely, and judiciously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting briefing notes, memos, and reports for senior staff and presenting to leadership as required.
- Collaborating with the CR team and other branches to provide support to MNO councils.
- Researching to support the needs of the Community Relations Team and presenting findings.
- Working with the CR team to develop and/or provide recommendations for solutions.
