About the Role: The Department Of Corrections Nz is seeking a qualified Culinary Instructor to join our team at Rimutaka Prison. As a key member of our Offender Employment (OE) program, you will provide direct supervision and practical training to offenders in a commercial kitchen setting.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on training to offenders in meal preparation, food safety, and kitchen management.
  • Enable offenders to achieve NZQA qualifications in culinary arts.
  • Work collaboratively with the Internal Services Team to support the laundry operation as needed.
  • Motivate and develop people within a challenging team environment.

Requirements:

  • A proven passion & practical experience in the Catering industry at a professional level.
  • London City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent trade qualifications.
  • Experience working within a Kaupapa Maori or Pasifika environment, and/or demonstrates a willingness to learn about and operate effectively within cultural expectations.
  • Exceptional people leadership & communication skills.
