Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Rocket Lab USA Full time
Pioneering Team, Innovative Culture
Rocket Lab USA is a company that prides itself on having each other's backs, checking our egos at the door, and rolling up our sleeves on all tasks big and small. We thrive under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and our focus is always on how we can deliver, rather than dwelling on the challenges that stand in the way.

We're looking for an experienced Integrated Operations Engineer II who shares our passion for innovation, teamwork, and delivering results. As a member of our Integrated Operations team, you will be responsible for integrated testing and operations of all major products at Rocket Lab USA, primarily charged with launching Electron, as well as performing major system testing for Space Systems and Neutron Products. You will also be responsible for configuration, checkout, and operation of Test and Launch facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a command of various disciplines related to testing and operations. You will typically be skilled in multiple operational roles, including test and operational lead roles where you will direct other operators during testing and operations. You will routinely mentor and train other operators and take a leadership/ownership role in Integrated Operations projects and process/tool development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement efficient testing and operations procedures and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and testing of new products.
  • Lead and participate in training programs to ensure operator proficiency and knowledge transfer.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for testing and operations procedures and processes.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in engineering design, test, and/or operations.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed schematics, drawings, and instructions.
  • Self-driven, motivated, and contagiously positive.
  • Proven communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Careful work ethic with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
