Conservation Project Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to coordinate conservation projects in the South Marlborough District and Northern South Island region. The successful candidate will work closely with iwi, local community groups, and businesses to deliver statutory work and community engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize community conservation events, such as Conservation Week.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers.
  • Work with colleagues and other agencies across district boundaries on statutory and collaborative projects.
  • Collaborate with local conservation groups to support their efforts.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated team member with excellent people skills and an understanding of regulatory processes. Key requirements include:

  • A tertiary qualification in an environmental management/planning discipline, or equivalent experience in working with statutory authorities, community groups, iwi, or business groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct statutory analysis and write accurate, clear, and concise reports.
  • A 'can do' attitude and proven excellent organisational skills.
