**Job Overview**
Museums Aotearoa is seeking a skilled Kaitohutohu Rautaki A-Iwi/Strategic Advisor Iwi Relationships to join our team. This role will focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with iwi, Maori organisations, and communities.
As a key member of the Nga Manu Atarau directorate, you will play a critical role in leading and driving the development and strengthening of te reo me nga tikanga, te ao Maori, and our ability to meet our Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and legislative mandate.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has meaningful and active relationships with Maori working in and for te taiao and experience engaging with iwi and Maori organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as an advocate for iwi within Museums Aotearoa, and an advocate for Museums Aotearoa with iwi.
- Exemplify manaakitanga and seek opportunities to enhance engagement and interactions between Museums Aotearoa and Maori.
- Look for partnership opportunities in the natural environment for Maori and Museums Aotearoa.
Requirements:
- Proven ability to manage and deliver complex iwi or kaupapa Maori projects.
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills, including demonstrated experience in consultation and negotiation.
- Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implementation.
