Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Production Manager with strong leadership abilities, critical technical expertise, and a passion for continuous improvement.

This role offers the opportunity to join our close-knit manufacturing team in Te Rapa, Hamilton, where your skills and expertise will make a tangible impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Inspire, motivate, and develop the commercial vehicles team to achieve success through effective leadership.
  • Process Improvement: Implement systems and procedures to maximise operational efficiency, ensuring all aspects of manufacturing, repairs, design, and assets are fully utilised with continuous productivity improvements.
  • Planning & Organisation: Collaborate with the Operations Manager to effectively plan production schedules and resource allocation, driving team alignment to achieve shared goals.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all vehicle builds meet Talent Connection Nz Limited's high standards, as well as customer requirements and relevant compliance regulations.
  • Team Development: Train and develop the skills and capabilities of the commercial vehicles team to foster growth and excellence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A National Certificate in Coachbuilding (or similar qualification preferred) with a strong focus on health and safety compliance.

A Continuous Improvement mindset is essential, with Kaizen or similar certifications being highly desirable.

Proven ability to analyse and interpret project specifications, technical drawings, and other information in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Comprehensive understanding of technical drawings and complex projects.

Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, with a track record of successfully leading teams in manufacturing or similar industries in New Zealand or internationally.
