The Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Engineer to join our Core Infrastructure Squad. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our datacentre infrastructure. This will involve working closely with other IT professionals to ensure smooth operation, optimizing performance, and ensuring the highest levels of security and efficiency.

  • Design, implement, and maintain datacentre infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and power distribution units (PDUs).
  • Monitor and manage datacentre performance, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Evaluate and implement robust security measures and protocols to ensure datacentre security.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate and optimize datacentre operations within the broader IT infrastructure.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for datacentre systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Plan and execute datacentre migrations, upgrades, and expansions with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for datacentre-related issues.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in data centre operations, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of datacentre infrastructure components, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and power distribution units.
  • Experience with datacentre monitoring and management tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong understanding of datacentre security best practices and protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Data Centre Infrastructure Expert (DCIE), or equivalent are preferred.
