About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Tester to join our team in Wellington. As a key member of our project, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and secure flow of goods across New Zealand's borders.

As the Software Tester, you will be responsible for analyzing prescribed requirements, producing a test plan, reviewing your plan with project stakeholders, and conducting manual test cases. You will provide assurance that the project is delivering value and is fit for purpose for end-users.

  • You will work closely with a collaborative team of Architects, Developers, DevSecOps Engineers, and Subject Matter Experts to deliver a critical software change project within our existing Trade Systems.
  • Your primary objective will be to ensure that the project meets the required quality standards, adhering to best practice methodologies and providing assurance to stakeholders.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A proven ability to identify appropriate test needs based on application designs, architectures, requirements specifications, stories, and other supporting documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with all stages of the product life cycle of large-scale, high-availability systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to understand complex challenges and concepts and articulate them in a simplified manner.
  • Demonstrated understanding of testing best practices and approach differences when releasing to different environments within the SDLC and via a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Good understanding of relevant software development topics, including development languages, databases, methodologies, DevOps, build pipelines, and automation.
