The Special Education Advisor role is a critical position in our Learning Support team, working to achieve equitable and excellent outcomes for all students. As a member of our team, you will contribute to shaping the future of education in New Zealand.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting parents, whanau, teachers, and schools to meet the learning support needs of children and young people
  • Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with professional partners, community groups, and sector agencies
  • Enhancing inclusive practices in educational settings
  • Assessing, planning, supporting, and monitoring individual intervention plans

To succeed in this role, you will need relevant qualifications, experience working with children and young people with learning and behavioural needs, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to work effectively with children, young people, and their families across diverse settings. The ability to understand and apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and tangatawhenuatanga is essential.
