Job Description

**Role Overview**

This is a permanent, full-time role as a Public Health Nurse in our Central regional team. You will deliver public health nursing services across schools and the community.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver public health nursing services, including assessment of personal and population health, attention to multiple determinants of health, and primary prevention.
  • Work with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships at all levels and model an agile approach, learning quickly and adapting fast.
  • Utilize advanced nursing knowledge and skills through reflective practice, critical thinking, and professional judgement to provide competent care and advice.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as Registered Nurse and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • 3+ years clinical experience, Authorised Vaccinator or interest in completing training, demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise and clinical judgement, particularly when working with children and adolescents.
  • Hold a minimum of a competent portfolio in an approved PDRP or equivalent with a commitment to continue through the programme.
  • Child and whanau health related experience.
  • Ability to work within a team and autonomously.
  • Proven experience and competence using Patient Management Systems.
  • An eye for detail and commitment for continuous quality improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Full, clean New Zealand drivers licence.
