Clinical Lead Speech-Language Therapist

About the Role
">This position will provide acute speech-language therapy input for children and their whānau on the inpatient wards at Starship Children's Hospital, as well as outpatient instrumental assessment clinics.
The successful applicant will provide assessment and management for babies and children with paediatric dysphagia or feeding needs across a broad range of specialisms in the acute setting.
They will demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning and use of evidence-based practice while upholding a flexible and proactive approach.
Key responsibilities include:

- Providing assessment and management for babies and children with paediatric dysphagia or feeding needs">
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure best outcomes for patient care needs">
- Upskilling in acute paediatric dysphagia/feeding in a tertiary children's hospital">
- Progressing into relevant advanced areas of practice, including videofluoroscopy, tracheostomy, critical care, and neonatal care">
Required Skills and Qualifications

- NZ registration as a Speech-Language Therapist with current Annual Practicing Certificate">
- 2+ years of post-graduate clinical work experience, with skills in paediatric dysphagia desirable">
- Excellent skills in relationship building and communication">
- Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence-informed practice">
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting">
- Effective time management, flexibility, prioritisation, and organisation skills">
