Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to join our team in Mount Maunganui for a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver excellence in the legal function, driving strategic initiatives, and working across functions to contribute positively to Zespri-wide issues.
  • Ensure strong corporate governance practices across all Zespri entities and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic and commercially focused legal advice to business units on legal aspects of Zespri's business.
  • Support litigation and dispute resolution proceedings to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Requirements
  • 7+ years' experience as an in-house lawyer or well-established corporate law firm.
  • Current practising certificate from the New Zealand Law Society or overseas jurisdiction with capability to obtain a NZ Practising Certificate.
  • Strong technical knowledge in commercial matters, intangible assets, agribusiness, and/or consumer marketing.
  • Ability to analyse complex issues and translate them into business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders to manage and deliver complex strategic workstreams.
  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness with highly confidential information.
