The Role
The key purpose of the Behaviour Specialist - Psychologist role is to deliver quality services based on a positive behaviour support framework which is consistent with our contract obligations with Whaikaha and other providers as required. The role will be based in Northland/ Te Tai Tokerau. Our office is based in Whangarei, and we will consider remote working arrangements if located further north.

Responsibilities
This includes experience in the field of disability and/or behaviour support, registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and minimum 3 years experience. You should have an understanding of and commitment to: The Code of Health and Disabilities Services Consumer Rights, The Treaty of Waitangi and bi-cultural practice. Good interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport; proactive and responsive to client needs and colleagues/team needs are also essential.

Skills and Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including competence in professional report writing are a must. A current full New Zealand driver's licence is required. You should also have proven ability to work in teams and in a 'transdisciplinary' manner. Knowledge and understanding of the principles of evidence-based behavioural approaches are also necessary.
