The Role

We are seeking a skilled Parcel Sorter to join our PM shift in our Parcels division at our Palmerston North branch. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with the safe handling of freight, achieving target delivery goals, and providing an on-time, damage-free service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading all freight safely and securely;
  • Achieving branch operational objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently;
  • Ensuring documentation accompanying freight is complete;
  • Operating equipment in a safe and proficient manner;
  • Actioning bay labels, re-stacking damaged freight, and protecting leaking product;
  • Maintaining good working relationships and communicating effectively within a team environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will be physically fit, have excellent team coordination skills, and have some experience working with freight. You will also need:

  • Prior work experience in the freight industry;
  • A strong health and safety focus;
  • OSH approved forklift certificate;
  • F endorsed licence (preferred but not essential);
  • Prior long fork experience (preferred but not essential);
  • An understanding of dangerous goods laws (preferred but not essential).
