We are a close-knit team at OurVets Parklands, committed to delivering exceptional care to our furry friends in Christchurch, New Zealand.

This Companion Animal Veterinarian opportunity offers a balanced mix of consults and surgery, working alongside our experienced veterinarians and veterinary nurses. We prioritize work-life balance with a 3-day week and limited shared Saturday roster. You'll enjoy no regular afterhours or on-call duties, with a backup roster covering approximately 3-4 times per year.

As part of our supportive team culture, you'll be surrounded by skilled veterinary nurses and support staff. You'll also have access to a wider collegial network with two other OurVets clinics in St Albans and Halswell.

We offer competitive remuneration and benefits that reflect your experience. You'll also have opportunities for professional development, including CPD allowance, study leave, and free use of our Veterinary Training Centre. Additionally, we provide wellbeing support, equipped with an in-house laboratory, x-ray and dental x-ray and ultrasound.

About the Role:

  • BVSc qualified (or equivalent) and registered, or eligible to practice in New Zealand.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, applicants must hold work rights.
  • 3+ years of experience, comfortable with routine surgery, dentals and consultations, as well as being comfortable with some sole changes.
