About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Pathologist to join our team at Canterbury District Health Board. As a Forensic Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the coronial death investigation system, working closely with legally-trained coroners, police, and courts.
">Your Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake and supervise autopsy examinations of sudden, unexplained or unexpected deaths for coroners.
- Provide expert advice to coroners, police, families, courts, and other medical staff.
- Attend scenes at the request of the police and provide expert testimony in court.
- Supervise and teach trainee forensic pathologists as part of our forensic pathology training program.

Our Forensic Pathology South Island team serves a population of about 1.2m for suspicious deaths and homicides.
