Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Law Editor and Publisher to join our Judicial Resources team within Te Kura Kaiwhakawa. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, currency, and accessibility of our online bench books.

Key Responsibilities

The Law Editor and Publisher will be responsible for all tasks across the content lifecycle, including reviewing, editing, and publishing bench book content in accordance with Te Kura's style guide. This will involve monitoring and responding to feedback from users, undertaking legal research to support editors, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in law
  • Previous experience with online publishing tools or Content Management Systems
  • Good capability with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
  • Legal research and writing skills
  • Editingskills, requiring accuracy and an outstanding eye for detail
  • High level oral communication skills that enable you to communicate tactfully and confidently with judicial officers and other senior managers
  • A working knowledge of the judiciary and machinery of government
  • An understanding of te ao Maori, te reo and tikanga and a personal commitment to continuing to develop knowledge of, and in, these three areas
  • Initiative, resilience, and a commitment to working collaboratively in a small team
