About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced veterinarian to join our team at SPCA Auckland.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a shelter environment, providing high-quality veterinary care to animals in need.

As a veterinary specialist, you will work closely with a veterinary nurse to ensure excellent treatment protocols and strict hygiene standards.

You will run our small veterinary clinic within the Dunedin Centre, working unsupervised but with collegial and professional support from our Head Vet when required.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing workloads effectively.

This role provides a unique opportunity for professional growth and development, as well as a sense of purpose and fulfillment through contributing to animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality veterinary care for animals presented to SPCA Auckland.
  • Work closely with a veterinary nurse to ensure excellent treatment protocols and strict hygiene standards.
  • Manage our small veterinary clinic, working independently but with support from our Head Vet as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve a positive outcome for all animals in our care.
