About the Role
The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit plays a crucial role in providing advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and compassionate care under intense pressure. ICU nurses care for patients who are critically ill or injured, often dealing with life-threatening situations that require continuous monitoring and intervention.
The position will be permanent part-time or full-time, working in a state-of-the-art unit with the latest technology. As an ideal candidate, you will have experience working in an acute setting in New Zealand or overseas; ICU experience is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Care for critically ill or injured patients
- Provide advanced clinical knowledge and critical thinking
- Work autonomously and use initiative wisely
- Be able to hit the ground running
Requirements
- Current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
- Previous experience in acute care or critical care is desirable
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Good level of computer literacy
- High levels of professionalism with an enthusiastic, proactive, flexible approach
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
