We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Disability Specialist to join our team in the wider Wellington area. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing expert support to clients with complex needs.

The Role

As an Intellectual Disability Specialist, you will work closely with our clients to set and achieve personal goals, develop life skills, and promote social connections. Your role will involve:

  • Conducting thorough assessments and developing individualized care plans to meet clients' unique needs
  • Providing emotional support, guidance, and encouragement to help clients build confidence and self-esteem
  • Supporting clients with daily living tasks, such as medication management, personal hygiene, and meal preparation
  • Assisting clients with activities of daily living, including transportation, shopping, and leisure activities
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting on client progress to our team

We are looking for someone with expertise in intellectual disability support, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers. Training and development opportunities will be provided to support your growth and success in this role.
