Job Description
Agency For Science, Technology And Research is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to develop next generation green and sustainable technology for the biomanufacturing of fine and specialty chemicals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical/biological/genomic engineering and/or biotechnology and be passionate about science and sustainability.
About the Role
The successful candidate may be responsible for designing and conducting experiments to optimize biochemical pathways and/or cellular organisms towards the production of selected chemicals. They will also be comfortable in the use of advanced technology, including AI/machine learning to design and engineer enzymes. Additionally, they will be able to lead independent studies, maintain accurate records, analyze data, and present research findings at conferences, meetings, and to internal/external stakeholders. Supervising and mentoring junior researchers in the team and establishing collaboration with internal and external partners to develop new, cutting-edge technologies and/or improve existing ones are also key responsibilities.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must hold a PhD in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or Biological Engineering, or its equivalent. They must also have rigorous data analysis, interpretation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent oral/written communication, documentation, and organization skills. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task is essential. In addition, they must be adaptable to team-oriented goals and requirements.
