About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Statistical Production Lead to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to coordinate and manage statistical releases, ensuring deadlines are met and outputs are delivered to a high standard.

Your Responsibilities

  • \
  • Manage and oversee the production of one or more statistical releases.\
  • Work closely with Unit Managers and Analysts to assign tasks and monitor progress.\
  • Coordinate release status reporting and keep key stakeholders informed.\
  • Identify dependencies between statistical projects and ensure smooth integration.\
  • Standardise methodologies and processes across different releases.\
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to build statistical capability.\
  • Drive continuous improvement in statistical production systems and processes.\

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • \
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, an understanding of economic statistics is an advantage.\
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate complex workstreams.\
  • An understanding of data processing and quality control processes, with a willingness to learn about statistical data releases produced by Stats NZ.\
  • An ability to solve problems under pressure.\
  • Great team-working skills with the ability to build strong relationships.\
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex concepts in plain English.\
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a willingness to learn and grow in Te Ao Maori.\
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in or outside of work.\
