The Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia is a regional organisation that serves the people in 55 ministry units across Canterbury, Westland, and the Chatham Islands.

About the Role

This permanent, full-time position reports directly to Bishop Peter Carrell and is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of the Diocesan Office, Anglican Diocesan Ministry Support Centre (ADMSC) staff, Anglican Centre, and other Diocesan bodies based there.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing and keeping updated the policies of Synod and Standing Committee of the Diocese
  • Acting under the delegated authority of the Synod, Standing Committee, and ADMSC board
  • Ensuring the efficient running of the Diocesan Office and ministry units
  • Being the official interface with the Governing Body of the Diocese, Synod, and ADMSC board
  • Developing the annual budget in conjunction with the Finance Manager
  • Maintaining the Diocesan ministry unit archives and holding the role of Privacy Officer
  • Taking responsibility for Health and Safety policies, procedures, and reporting
Requirements
  • A strong alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Anglican Diocese of Christchurch
  • An affinity with Anglican ethos, doctrine, worship, and spiritual tradition
  • A proven senior executive management ability to provide inspirational leadership and a clear sense of direction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of written and oral communication
  • Proven stakeholder relationship management and networking skills
  • Experience managing significant budgets with strong financial management, analytical, and reporting skills
  • Strong digital competence including the use of the MS Office suite
Compensation

Estimated salary: NZD $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
