Job Description

We are looking for a pedagogically progressive and culturally responsive teacher who can design and facilitate engaging learning experiences across the department and wider school community. The successful applicant will deliver high-quality social science and history programmes from Year 9 to NCEA Level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver curriculum-aligned learning experiences that cater to diverse learner needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental plans and initiatives.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student growth and well-being.
  • Mentor and support colleagues in their teaching practice, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid teaching certification and a strong understanding of curriculum requirements.
  • Demonstrate expertise in social science and history education, with a focus on culturally responsive pedagogy.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
