Lecturer in Interactive Storytelling

The School of Product Design at the University of Canterbury is seeking an experienced Academic in Interactive Storytelling to join our team. As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for developing and teaching courses in Game Arts and Animation, engaging in and supervising research or creative practice related to Game Arts, Animation, and Digital Screen activities, and assisting with academic initiatives within the School and the University.

We are looking for someone who has at least 10 years' industry experience in Game Arts, Animated Production, or a related field, and/or at least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. A relevant postgraduate qualification may be an advantage. You must demonstrate evidence of teaching ability, with experience at the tertiary level preferred, and show a knowledge of recent developments in research and/or professional practice in Game Arts and Animation.

The ideal candidate will have a portfolio of research/creative work that aligns with the university's strategic priorities and demonstrates their expertise in Game Arts and Animation. They will also be able to demonstrate experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and have proficiency with industry-standard software such as Blender or Maya, as well as experience with digital sculpting, lighting, and rendering techniques.

Our salary ranges for this position are: $64,302 - $113,749 p.a. (Lecturer, Teaching and Administration Only), $86,197 - $104,487 p.a. (Lecturer), and $109,977 - $124,732 p.a. (Senior Lecturer).
