Job Description

We are seeking a Lead Advisor to join our Portfolio and Programme team within Services and Contracts Management. This role involves supporting the team to deliver on its goals, focusing on one of five core portfolios.

The Māori, Communities and Partnerships Group plays a vital role in building capability across MSD to support Māori aspirations and connect with communities nationwide.

About the Role

As a Lead Advisor, you will be responsible for maintaining a strong understanding of the pipeline of work, ensuring customer requirements are well-planned and communicated effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH CUSTOMERS AND INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS.
  • MAINTAIN A SOUND WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF PROCUREMENT AND CONTRACTING IN A SOCIAL SERVICE ENVIRONMENT.
  • ENSURE PORTFOLIO WORK IS INCLUDED IN PRIORITISATION PLANNING AND COORDINATE WITH SCM TEAMS.
  • TAKE OWNERSHIP OF DETAILED PLANNING AND COMMUNICATION.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A RELEVANT QUALIFICATION OR EQUIVALENT WORK EXPERIENCE.
  • EXPERIENCE IN SOCIAL SERVICE CONTRACT MANAGEMENT OR PROCUREMENT OPERATIONS.
  • PROVEN PROJECT DELIVERY SKILLS, MANAGING RISKS AND ACHIEVING OUTCOMES.
  • STRONG LEGISLATIVE AND POLICY KNOWLEDGE, WITH OPERATIONAL APPLICATION.
  • EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH MACHINERY OF GOVERNMENT PROCESSES AND SYSTEMS.
  • SOLID UNDERSTANDING OF OPERATIONAL POLICY AND ITS IMPACT.
  • EXCELLENT VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS.
  • A PROVEN ABILITY TO BUILD AND MAINTAIN STRONG WORKING RELATIONSHIPS.
  • STRONG CRITICAL THINKING AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS.
  • ABILITY TO WORK AT PACE, BALANCING PLANNED AND UNPLANNED WORK.
  • PROFICIENCY IN MICROSOFT OFFICE AND RELEVANT COMMUNICATION TOOLS.
  • AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE SOCIAL SECTOR AND COMMISSIONING.

Salary Range

$120,870.00 - $150,416.00
