Role Overview

The Kaitakawaenga role is a vital bridge between the Court and iwi mandated Whakaorangia te Mana Tangata Service provider, justice sector agencies, and whanau Maori. This position requires a strong understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and its implications for the work of Te Tahu o te Ture – Ministry of Justice.

Key Responsibilities

Whakahaeretia – Case Management: Bring practical problem-solving skills and adaptability to change in a fast-paced environment. Collaborate with lawyers, prosecutors, and other justice sector agencies to ensure better justice and wellbeing outcomes for whanau Maori.
