Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive hourly rate ranging from $33.19 to $38.79 per hour, dependent on assigned task, skill, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive hourly wage, you will receive paid rates for overtime worked.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Company Meat Inspection team at our Malvern processing facility near Rolleston, Christchurch. As a Company Meat Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our meat products by conducting post-mortem inspections and monitoring industry data. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting animals after slaughter to identify any conditions that may affect food safety standards
- Ensuring compliance with regulations set by the Ministry of Primary Industries and other relevant industry bodies
- Maintaining accurate records of industry data
- Communicating the quality and safety of our products to stakeholders
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a great work ethic. You must also be able to follow instructions and work unsupervised, as well as adhere to our strict quality control procedures. We encourage applicants who are reliable, punctual, and able to work shift patterns with varying start and finish times.
Qualifications
A NZQA Level Four Certificate in Animal Examination is required for this specialist position. However, we periodically provide opportunities to train towards this position, so if you are interested in working towards becoming a trained Company Meat Inspector, we encourage you to apply for an entry-level meat process worker position.
