Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Maintenance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing field-based and site-based repairs and maintenance on a large fleet of forklifts, working from our well-equipped workshop in Palmerston North.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts, ensuring they are safe and operational
  • Work with customers to identify and resolve issues, providing excellent customer service
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and preferences
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying knowledge to improve processes and efficiency

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in material handling equipment or a related field (e.g., auto electrical, diesel, motor mechanic, trade qualification)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible attitude towards varying work schedules
  • Basic IT skills, with the ability to learn new software and systems
