The Role

  1. Help prepare monthly reports, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  2. Oversight of financial transactions, managing accounts receivable, processing invoices, and reconciling bank statements.
  3. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, helping manage GST, PAYE, and other tax obligations.
  4. Support audits and risk management, assisting with internal and external audits, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  5. Analyse data and contribute to reporting that supports business decisions.
  6. Work with internal stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support.
  7. Identify ways to enhance financial systems and reporting efficiencies.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  1. A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Progress toward Chartered Accountant (CA) status or an interest in attaining it.
  3. 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in financial reporting, compliance, and tax.
  4. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and Microsoft Excel.
  5. An understanding of te ao Māori, tikanga, and Māori business structures, or a willingness to learn.
  6. Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  7. An interest in digital system improvements and financial technology.
