Gisborne, Gisborne, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

About Us
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is a public healthcare provider committed to delivering high-quality services to the people of New Zealand. We strive to create a health system that is equitable, sustainable, and centered around the needs of our patients and communities.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmology Registrar to join our team at Gisborne Hospital. As an Ophthalmology Registrar, you will be responsible for providing high-quality eye care services to our patients. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care and support the development of our clinical services.

About the Team/Service
Gisborne Hospital is a 110-bed acute care hospital that serves a wide geographical area extending up the East Cape of New Zealand. Our hospital offers a range of diagnostic facilities, including a new MRI scanner and CT scanner, and we have strong ties with our tertiary referral centre in Waikato. Situated on the East coast of New Zealand's North Island, Gisborne is a beautiful region with vast golden sand beaches, bush clad mountains, and lush farmlands.

What We Offer
We offer a supportive working environment, opportunities for professional growth and development, and a competitive salary package. As a member of our team, you will enjoy a pleasant climate, short commutes, and a relaxed approach to work. Our values form the acronym WAKA, which reflects our commitment to enriching the health of our community, supporting our patients and their families, working together as a team, and showing empathy and compassion in everything we do.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a registered medical practitioner with experience in ophthalmology. You must also be able to demonstrate your skills and knowledge in areas such as patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. In addition, you will need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
