About the Role

This position as a Maaori Clinical Nurse Specialist is an essential part of our team, working towards creating radical change for Maaori individuals and families. You will be one of three Maaori Clinical Nurse Specialists employed to create partnerships with Maaori across all levels, including taangata whaiora and whaanau, Maaori staff, and the Kaitakawaenga team.

About the Team

The Henry Rongomau Bennett Centre is home to Ward 36, a 10-bedded acute admission unit with an adjacent intensive care area consisting of 2 beds. We are currently building a brand new facility which will be ready for occupancy in the future; you will work in a state-of-the-art purpose-built facility where we aim to deliver a service that is culturally led and clinically underpinned.

About You

  • You must identify as Maaori.
  • You should have a good understanding of Te Ao Maaori and your own identity and whakapapa connections.
  • You hold a current New Zealand nursing registration and practicing certificate with scope to work in mental health.
  • You have 3-4 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • You have a passion for making a difference to the lives of our taangata whaiora and whaanau.
