About the Role
We are seeking an experienced GNC Engineer – Mission Design to join our team at Rocket Lab Usa. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for assisting with trajectory optimization/design for launch vehicle orbital missions, auto sequence design, and Monte Carlo analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside driven, talented engineers from varied backgrounds and experience levels, all committed to the same mission.
- Assist with all areas of GNC development and maintenance for Electron, Neutron and/or other programmes.
- Contribute to the design and verification of spacecraft separation sequences and dynamics.
- Develop and maintain 6DOF simulators and assist with launch and HITL operations.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or higher in Aerospace Mechatronics or equivalent qualification (Bachelor's degree can be considered for Engineer I level).
- A thorough fundamental understanding of 3DOF rocket dynamics.
- A thorough fundamental understanding of orbital mechanics.
- Experience with optimization for launch-vehicle or spacecraft missions.
