Generator Maintenance Technician

We're looking for a highly skilled Generator Maintenance Technician to join our team at Rotorua Library. With a strong reputation in the industry, our library is committed to providing top-notch services to our customers.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing regular maintenance and repairs on generators, lighting towers, and associated electrical equipment. This includes conducting monthly and annual testing and servicing of generators, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and performing high-volt electrical repairs.

You will also be responsible for fabricating new power cables and constructing new power distribution boxes. Effective communication and teamwork are essential in this role, as you will work closely with colleagues to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • EWRB licence
  • Experience with heavy diesel engines (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical/mechanical information clearly
  • Class 1 Full Driver's License with the ability to drive manual vehicles
  • Must be confident in vehicle towing and backing
