The Chief Advisor Public Health Information Systems will provide senior strategic and technical leadership across data and digital systems to improve disease surveillance and pandemic preparedness work programmes.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead the Notifiable Disease Information Ecosystem (NDIE) Programme, coordinating efforts across the Public Health Agency (PHA), National Public Health Service (NPHS), and the Institute for Environmental Science and Research (ESR).
- Oversee programme management, data integration, surveillance tools, and analytics to ensure alignment with Ministry of Health and Health NZ priorities.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Public Health Agency and the Ministry's broader Data and Digital services programme.
- Manage programme dependencies, risks, and governance arrangements, ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Provide strategic leadership to implement future-focused solutions that improve national disease surveillance and pandemic preparedness.
We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in health information systems, data governance, and programme management.
You will have:
- Tertiary qualification in a health or relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing data and digital programmes of work.
- Data governance, technical advisory, platform, tool development.
- Experience designing work programmes and project planning to ensure delivery of work on time, and within budget.
