As a Cloud Engineering Technical Lead at the New Zealand Government, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership within the Cloud Engineering teams to deliver value and meet key business milestones. About this Role

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the adoption and improvement of cloud engineering practices, driving the delivery of key projects, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment on cloud engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer or Technical Lead with a passion for cloud technologies and moving the dial within a large enterprise organisation.

You will need to have a deep understanding and proven experience applying cloud frameworks and methodologies, specifically Azure cloud services, with an ability to be agnostic of cloud platforms when assessing the most valuable way forward. Additionally, you will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to understand complex challenges/concepts and articulate these in a simplified, easy-to-understand manner.

  3. Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in cloud engineering.
  4. Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud engineering trends and technologies to inform strategy and decision-making.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment on cloud engineering initiatives.
  6. Develop and implement cloud engineering strategies that align with key IS strategies and product roadmaps.
