We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Speech and Language Therapist at Blind and Low Vision Education Network NZ in Auckland.

Job Description
  • Part time, permanent position available with up to 0.4 FTE commitment.
  • Commencing Term 2, 2025, with ongoing opportunities for growth and development.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced speech and language therapist to work with students aged 5-21 who are blind, deafblind or have low vision and additional complex needs.

The ideal candidate will possess sound knowledge and experience of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and be committed to providing high-quality support to students, families, and colleagues across the network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and implement effective strategies to support students with complex communication needs.
  • Mentor and collaborate with colleagues to promote best practice in AAC and communication support.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A current New Zealand Society of Training and Development (NZSTA) membership.
  • Sound pedagogical practice and experience working with students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills to meet the demands of the role.
