This role offers a unique opportunity to join our team and contribute to the financial success of our kaupapa-driven Māori business.
As an Accountant with our organisation, you'll be responsible for:
- Helping prepare monthly reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Oversight of financial transactions, managing accounts receivable, processing invoices, and reconciling bank statements.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, helping manage GST, PAYE, and other tax obligations.
- Providing financial guidance and support to internal stakeholders.
- Contributing to business decisions through data analysis and reporting.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Progress toward Chartered Accountant (CA) status or an interest in attaining it.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in financial reporting, compliance, and tax.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and Microsoft Excel.
- An understanding of te ao Māori, tikanga, and Māori business structures, or a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- An interest in digital system improvements and financial technology.
